This is a classic Aeolian player piano from the early 20th Century. This piano player can accommodate 58 note paper rolls and is pedal operated. The Aeolian Company was an early pioneer in player piano manufacturing and their instruments were known to be of very good quality. According to the accession paperwork, this instrument was the original pianola model, subsequently manufactured as the first practical pneumatic and marketable piano player. The Aeolian Scale consists of the same notes as the Natural Minor Scale. Aeolian plants produced pianos that were quality assured, one of the reasons that over the years many of the largest school systems in the United States have selected their pianos exclusively.
